Immunization and Wellness Care
Keeping your pets healthy is important to us, and regular wellness examinations are the foundation to helping them live longer, healthier, happier lives. Wellness care covers more than vaccinations; it also includes preventative healthcare such as heart worm and intestinal parasite testing, nose-to-tail exams, and comprehensive evaluations of overall health. Dramatic changes in a pet’s health can occur in a very short period of time because pets can age up to seven times faster than we do. By age two, most pets have reached adulthood. Wellness exams allow us to screen for and treat underlying medical conditions early. This can help your pet live a long and healthy life.
Illness doesn’t always have a physical cause. We employ trained animal behaviorists who help determine the cause of such disorders as separation anxiety and obsessive behavior, and then develop a treatment regimen for the client.
Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care. Your pet’s comfort and well-being are very important to us. We provide a variety of pain control options tailored to the individual pet’s needs. We utilize various medications, including anti-inflammatories and narcotics to keep your pet comfortable.
Reptiles, Rabbits and Small Mammals
Veterinary medicine for exotic pets is growing as the popularity of these animals increase. With better public education in health, nutritional and environmental management, all species have a greater chance for living longer and healthier lives. We employ staff veterinarians who possess experience in the care and treatments of exotics.
Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet’s teeth. Periodontal disease is the most common ailment found in dogs and cats over four years old. It can lead to pain and tooth loss, and the resulting bacteria can spread throughout the body and damage the heart, lungs, kidneys and liver. Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, digital x-rays, tooth extractions and oral surgery. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly – above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. Advanced dental care is available, including root canals, caps and braces.
Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained and certified staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active.

Treat your pet to a luxurious bath. Our special, cleansing baths remove dirt, debris and that doggie pet odor – your pet will feel fresh and revitalized. If scratching is a problem, our medicated baths contain soothing agents that stop the itching. Services also include nail trim and ear cleaning.
We cover all areas of internal medicine, including: Cardiology; Ophthalmology; Neurology; Dermatology; Gastroenterology; Orthopedic surgery; Oncology; Endocrinology; among others.
Surgery Services and Hospitalization
We perform many surgical procedures at out hospital, including routine spay and neuters, soft tissue surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries. Our surgical suite includes laser surgery technology, heated surgery tables and advanced anesthetic monitors that measure heart and respiratory rates, oxygen levels, body tempter and heart rhythm. By using a laser scalpel instead of a metal blade during surgery, the risk of infection is lessened, bleeding is reduced, and pain and swelling are significantly shortened. This means your pet will be back on their feet and feeling better in no time. In addition, we have an isolation area where pets with contagious illnesses can be treated safely away from other patients.
Lasers are a minimally invasive alternative to traditional surgery. Lasers replace scalpels in many procedures, and are useful for a wide range of conditions, such as cyst, tumor, and wart removal, and can even be used in declawing. Laser procedures result in less pain; less bleeding and less swelling. They reduce risk of infection and result in less post-operative discomfort.
We maintain a supply of blood for all types of pets in case of emergency. The blood is collected from donor pets that live with their owners, and all blood is carefully screened for disease.
High-tech fiber optics permits direct visual examination and biopsies of your pet’s gastrointestinal system. This allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of oral, esophageal, stomach, colon and even upper intestinal tract disease. Foreign objects can also be removed without the need for surgery.
Radiology – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems.
This non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Pregnancy exams are also available.
We are proud of our commitment to high quality care and have developed a diagnostic department that includes digital radiology, ultrasound, and electrocardiography (ECG). Our complete in-house laboratory is capable of performing many tests, including blood counts and chemistries, endocrine testing, blood gas analysis and microscopic evaluations. These services are complemented by additional outside laboratories and telemedicine consultations with specialists nationwide.
